Court to set date for Nevin appeal
The Court of Criminal Appeal is finally due to set a date for the appeal of convicted murderer Catherine Nevin later today.
Mrs Nevin, convicted of the murder of her husband Tom, was last month granted free legal aid to fund her bid for freedom.
Her lawyers have been working on the grounds for appeal since she was jailed 15 months ago, and they claim they are substantial.
The appeal date was delayed due to legal wrangling, over whether or not she was entitled to some of the proceeds of her husband's estate, and could pay for her own appeal.
Only last month Mrs Nevin was granted full legal aid in her bid for a way out of Mountjoy Jail.
