Blaney seeks clarification of Harney comments

Independent TD Harry Blaney has called for the Tanaiste to clarify her statements that she is against an abortion referendum in the autumn.

Donegal Northeast Deputy Blaney insists the four independent TDs supporting the Government were promised such a referendum would take place before

Christmas.

He wants Mary Harney to say when the referendum will now take place.

Deputy Harney said she is not in favour of holding the referendum in the autumn, because it would be 'divisive'.
