A family, including three young children, were lucky to escape injury after a pipe bomb attack on their Co Antrim home early today.

Two lethal devices were hurled at their house in Turnarobert Park in the north Antrim town of Armoy in the early hours.

One of the bombs exploded in the backyard, while a second - thrown through the kitchen window - failed to detonate.

A police spokeswoman said a motive for the attack was being investigated.
