Man in court on IRA membership charges
A 62-year-old Co Wexford man has appeared at the Special Criminal Court in connection with paramilitary membership.
Thomas Redmond of the Gatepost, Forth Commons, Co Wexford was charged with membership of an illegal organisation styling itself as Oglaigh na hEireann, or the IRA.
The court heard that Mr Redmond was arrested at the Grove in Wexford at 7.40am today.
He was charged under the Offences Against the State Act. He was remanded in custody to appear again on July 26th next.
Last weekend, two Kildare men were also arrested and charged with IRA membership.
