Proposal made to change murder classifications

Representatives of the Irish legal community are to meet in Dublin this morning in order to debate a new proposal to extend the legal definition of murder.

The proposal has been put forward by the Law Reform Commission, which is seeking to bring bombings or arson attack into the category of homicide.
