Ahern denies legal advice over poll ban

The Taoiseach has denied reports that the cabinet was told a ban on opinion polls in the last week of an election was unconstitutional.

However speaking at Dublin Castle, Bertie Ahern admitted he did not know if this clause of the Electoral Amendment Bill would stand up in a constitutional challenge.
