Court rejects McKevitt's documents application
The Special Criminal Court has ruled that sensitive documents in a case involving the alleged Real IRA leader Michael McKevitt should not be disclosed for a bail application.
51-year-old Mr McKevitt of Beech Park, Blackrock, Dundalk, is charged with being a member of and directing the activities of Oglaigh na hEireann, styling itself the Real IRA.
His defence team is seeking full disclosure of all documents given to the State by David Rupert, an FBI and British intelligence agent who infiltrated the Real IRA.
However, the court decided that such disclosure is not necessary for a bail application.
