Maloney finishes giving evidence at Moriarty
The Chairman of Esat Digifone, Barry Maloney has finished giving evidence to the Moriarty Tribunal.
The Tribunal has now been adjourned until further notice.
Mr Maloney has spent four days in the witness box during which he was asked about allegations that his former boss, Denis O’Brien made a payment of £100,000 to the former Minister, Michael Lowry.
Mr Maloney had claimed that Mr O’Brien had told him about payments of more than £200,000 while they were out jogging.
Mr O’Brien maintained that he was joking - in order to encourage Mr Maloney to pay some outstanding consultants' fees when Maloney confirmed that he did not know if the payments had ever been made.
Michael Lowry is now expected to be called before the Tribunal shortly.
