New mayors elected

All the main cities across the country have had new Lord Mayors elected to the city councils.

Fianna Fail’s Michael Mulcahy has been elected Lord Mayor of Dublin while his deputy is Eric Byrne from the Labour party.

Meanwhile Fianna Fail’s Tom O’Driscoll has been appointed Lord Mayor of Cork while Donal Lyons of the Progressive Democrats is the new Mayor of Galway.

In Limerick, Cllr Dick Sadlier of Fianna Fail has been elected as Mayor.
