Ahern holds telephone peace talks with Bush
Taoiseach Bertie Ahern today had a 30-minute telephone conversation with American President George W Bush about the present position in Northern Ireland.
A spokesman for the Taoiseach said he briefed the President about yesterday’s talks in Hillsborough, involving Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, soon-to-resign Northern Ireland First Minister David Trimble and other Ulster political party representatives.
