Hume assumes EU Socialist group vice-presidency

SDLP leader John Hume was today appointed as a vice president of the European Socialist Group.

At a conference of European socialists in Brussels involving 18 social democrat parties from 15 EU member states, the Foyle MP and MEP was chosen.
