Arms issue has to be resolved - Ahern

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern today spelled out the ‘‘reality’’ of a requirement for movement on IRA arms to head off the Northern Ireland peace process crisis.

Mr Ahern was responding in the Dail to opposition questions about last night’s insistence by a senior member of the IRA that weapons decommissioning would not be achieved on British Government terms or by Ulster Unionist ultimatums.
