Noonan slams Govt divisions over Europe

The Fine Gael leader has said that the Government is so divided over Europe, that it now has no credibility or leadership.

In the Dail this morning, Michael Noonan demanded that the Taoiseach give a clear indication of where he stands on Europe, while Labour leader Ruairi Quinn challenged the Euro sceptics in Fianna Fail to come forward.

Mr Noonan suggested that Bertie Ahern does not even have the support of his own ministers.

He said: "There is now no leadership, no coherence, no credibility and no possibility that the Government will be able to deal with this adequately."
