A man who tried to help two people shot on Bloody Sunday was forced back by bullets whizzing past his head, the inquiry into the shootings was told today.

Ex-Royal Navy sailor Ronald Wood said he was prevented from reaching two young men covered with blood on a rubble barricade by persistent gunfire.
