German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has said other EU nations will have to adopt a wait-and-see attitude before deciding how to react to Ireland's rejection of the Nice Treaty.

Speaking at the EU Summit in Gothenburg today, Mr Schroeder said he was keen to see what the Taoiseach would say in relation to the referendum's result and what his proposals are for the future.
