Trimble due to meet Blair today

Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble was today preparing for talks in London with Prime Minister Tony Blair as a question mark hung over his political future.

The North's First Minister is due to hold his first meeting with Mr Blair since his election.

Trimble will be meeting Mr Blair as a weaker UUP leader, having lost three seats overall in the general election and also sustained losses in the North's 26 councils.
