Woman dies in Laois road accident

A woman in her twenties has died following a road accident in Co Laois.

The young woman was a passenger in a car which went out of control and hit a pole on the Ridge Road in Portlaoise.

The driver of the car is being treated for injuries.

The single vehicle accident happened at 4.30am.
