Eircom board set to make statement on buy-out battle
The stakes are being raised in the battle for Eircom, with Denis O'Brien's eIsland consortium and Tony O'Reilly's Valentia both reported to have upped their bids.
A statement from the board of Eircom is expected later today following an overnight board meeting.
However, no decision is believed to have been reached.
It is thought the O'Brien bid may now be as high as 1.30 Euros per share (just over £1), but this offer has almost been matched by the Valentia consortium.
