The Taoiseach has admitted that he fully expects a low voter turnout for today’s referendums on the Nice Treaty, the prohibition of the death penalty and the International Criminal Court.

The Taoiseach has admitted that he fully expects a low voter turnout for today’s referendums on the Nice Treaty, the prohibition of the death penalty and the International Criminal Court.

The polls opened at eight o’clock this morning and will stay open until nine o’clock tonight but Mr Ahern remains pessimistic of a large turnout.
