Investigation launched into college fire

Four units of the Offaly fire brigade were called to a blaze at Tullamore College on the Daingean Road this morning.

Firefighters saved the building from being destroyed but serious damage was caused by the flames.

There were no reports of any injuries in the fire and an investigation is now underway to establish how the blaze began.

The fire broke out at about 3am.
