Tanaiste launches action plan for long term unemployed

A £37m project aimed at tackling unemployment is being launched by the Tanaiste Mary Harney.

The five-year Equal Community Initiative programme aims to bring skills and education to those most disadvantaged and discriminated against in society.

About 21,000 people are currently classified as long-term unemployed.
