O'Brien withdraws from Eircom bidding

The eIsland consortium led by Mr Denis O’Brien has withdrawn its bid for Eircom.

Speaking on RTE radio, Mr O'Brien said: "All along we have been informed that the highest offer wins. Every proposal that we made has been the highest proposal on the table."
