Trocaire asks the Government to end slavery
The campaign to free the world’s 28 million slaves will deliver a demand to the Government to pressurise other countries to free people who are trapped in forced labour.
The Minister of State, Tom Kitt, will be presented with the 36,000 post cards that were collected by the aid agency, Trócaire.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson, will also be presented with more postcards.
There are now more people in bonded labour in the world then there was when it was still legal in the United States.
