RUC defend use of plastic bullets
Plastic bullets fired at nationalist rioters following a loyalist parade in Northern Ireland were justified, a senior RUC officer insisted today.
Assistant Chief Constable Stephen White defended the use of baton rounds during clashes in Portadown, Co Armagh which saw 57 officers injured following condemnation from nationalist politicians.
