Down shooting victim named
A man shot dead in a pub toilet in Newtownards, Co Down, overnight has been named as Stephen Manners.
It is understood he was known to the RUC and had recently appeared in court on drug-related charges.
Mr Manners was shot when two gunmen burst into the pub on North St.
They fired a shot at where the victim was sitting and then cornered him in a downstairs toilet.
RUC Assistant Chief Constable Stephen White says no motive has yet been established but he added that the killing does have all the hallmarks of a paramilitary act.
It is believe the gunmen made their escape from the bar in a silver-coloured Ford Escort.
A burnt out car found later in the town was being examined by detectives.
