Lowry issues statement on Moriarty Tribunal

Deputy Michael Lowry has tonight issued a one-page statement, saying the media has conveyed totally inaccurate conclusions following last Tuesday's sitting of the Moriarty Tribunal.

Deputy Lowry said the procedures of the Tribunal restrain him from commenting to the media on the matters that arose at the hearings.

However, he asked if the media could in conscience believe that it has upheld the expressed wishes of Mr Justice Moriarty that there be objective coverage and reporting.

Deputy Lowry went on to say he had at all times co-operated with the Tribunal and that it was his intention to produce appropriate evidence to defend his position.
