Dana calls for No vote on Nice

Connacht/Ulster MEP Dana has urged the Irish electorate to vote against the Nice Treaty.

The former Eurovision star, whose real name is Rosemary Scallon, said the Government is trying to rush ratification of the treaty through.

She claims it will hand the European Commission unprecedented power, including the right to raise taxes, and has yet to be properly debated.

She said those who are unsure about the treaty's implications should vote no.
