Body found after boat runs aground

The body of a man was today recovered from the waters of a Northern Ireland lough after a boating accident.

A search was under way for a second man believed to have been on a cruiser that ran aground on an island in Co Fermanagh’s Lower Lough Erne, said the RUC.

The man who died and the missing man are understood to be German tourists who were having a boating holiday on Lough Erne.

An RNLI lifeboat, helicopter and police boat were searching the waters around Crevenishaughey Island for the missing man, said a spokesman.
