Ahern riding high in polls

An opinion poll published today has shown strong support for the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern’s ruling Fianna Fail party.

Support for the party is at 49%, with more than three in five questioned (61%) saying they were satisfied with the performance of the coalition government, according to a poll commissioned by a Sunday newspaper.
