Average weekly pay up by 9.5%

Average weekly earnings increased by 9.5% last year, according to figures released this afternoon by the Central Statistics Office.

Average pay in the business services sector were just under £418 per week.

Average weekly wages in the distribution sector were just over £400, marking a rise of 12.3%.

The highest weekly earnings were recorded in the post and teleommunications sector, while the lowest were in accommodation and catering.
