Campaigners jailed for litter offences

Three anti-service charge campaigners in Cork have been jailed for three days each, for litter offences.

All were summonsed and fined for dumping litter on the steps of Cork City Hall after the corporation refused to collect rubbish from householders who owe service charge payments.

Another six campaigners are due in court tomorrow, charged with similar offences.
