New cars taxed for Jan/Feb down by a quarter

New private cars taxed in February of this year are down by as much as 25% on the same period last year.

Figures from the Central Statistics Office also show that for the first two months of the year, there was an overall drop of 21.7% on new private cars taxed over the same period last year.
