Man appears before court in connection with Carlow stabbing

A 20-year-old man has appeared before Carlow District Court charged with murdering 17-year-old Warren Slater in the town in the early hours of this morning.

John Dillon from 7 Granby Row was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill Court on Wednesday.

He is charged with stabbing the 17-year-old in his bedsit on Granby Road around 4.30am. Mr Slater was pronounced dead at the scene.
