Cooper-Flynn to appeal RTE libel case decision

Mayo TD Beverly Cooper-Flynn is to appeal her libel action against RTE reporter Charlie Bird and Co Meath farmer James Howard.

Deputy Cooper-Flynn is to launch a full appeal against the ruling which jeopardises her political career.

She made her announcement this afternoon, saying she had consulted with her legal advisers.

She added that she had made the decision some weeks ago, but had avoided making it public until the appeal was formally lodged.
