Rail union meets ICTU

The ATGWU said it will be seriously attempting to resolve the rail dispute when it meets with the Irish Congress of Trade Unions today.

No trains in and out of Sligo today are running.

Mick O'Reilly of the ATGWU says the dispute is two fold.

He said seven drivers who faced disciplinary action at Irish Rail without union representation has to be redressed, as has union recognition.

However, Mr O'Reilly denies that the ATGWU is breaking union guidelines by embarking on unofficial industrial action while grievances are under investigation.
