O'Rourke told to intervene in rail dispute
The Minister for Public Enterprise, Mary O’Rourke, is coming under pressure from opposition parties to intervene in the dispute between Irish Rail and train drivers.
A strike has been planned for next Tuesday as members of the Irish Locomotive Drivers Association demand recognition by Irish Rail.
The drivers joined the amalgamated Transport and General Workers Union in March, but Irish Rail says that it will continue to refuse to recognise.
