Application underway for second U2 concert

Music promoters MCD have started the process to secure a licence to stage a second U2 concert at Slane in Co Meath.

Slane Castle owner Henry Mountcharles has said he would like fans who already have tickets for the first concert on August 25 not to buy tickets for the second one planned for September 1.

MCD and Wonderland Promotions have completed the first part of the licensing process by placing newspaper ads stating that they will be applying for a licence for a second concert.
