The Taoiseach has said that legislation introducing constitutional changes regarding the accountability of the judiciary may now be delayed "for some time".

Speaking in the Dáil, Bertie Ahern said he felt that a replacement date for the June 7 referendum, which was abandoned after opposition protests, is now "a long way away".
