Livestock smuggling accused denied bail

John Walsh, the Co Offaly livestock dealer charged with illegally importing sheep into the State, has been refused bail at Dublin District Court.

The court was told that Walsh, from Clareen, Birr, has no longer any ties to the country as his farm is up for sale and he is facing a £700,000 tax bill.
