The LE Eithne has left Dublin port with Garda permission following the death of 22-year-old crewman Brian Gorey on Sunday morning.

The ship is on its way her home base of Haulbowline in Cork.

It had been ordered to stay in port after an investigation was launched into ABS Gorey's drowning in the Liffey and part of the deck was preserved for technical examination.

Earlier today, 19-year-old Sean Lundon was charged with assault over the incident.
