Sailor on LE Eithne assault charge appears in court
A 19-year-old sailor from Co Tipperary has been charged with assaulting 22-year-old Brian Gorey from Limerick, who was found dead in the River Liffey last Sunday morning.
Sean Lundon of 61, James Connolly Park, Tipperary Town, will reappear at the Dublin District Court on May 2.
When faced with the charge this morning Mr Lundon replied "no".
He was remanded on bail of £150 and an independent surety of £600 to appear before the court again on May 2, and is to report to detectives in Tipperary each Wednesday.
The 19-year-old mechanic is charged under Section 3 of the Non Fatal Offences Act.
