LE Eithne remains in port as gardai probe sailor's death

The naval vessel the LE Eithne remains tied up at Dublin Port as gardai continue quizzing members of the crew about the death of able seaman Brian Gorey.

About half the 63-man crew have been interviewed at this stage.

A post mortem has confirmed that the 22-year-old died from drowning but there are also signs of head wounds.

Gardai are focusing on the final moments of the young Limerick man's life to try to discover how exactly the sailor, with four years naval experience, ended up in the water.
