GPs vote to reject free medical card plans

Delegates at the Irish Medical Organisation's annual general meeting have voted to reject the Government's plans to give free medical cards to all people over 70.

A motion at the meeting today called on family doctors to refuse to accept any new medical card patients unless their cards were granted as a result of means-testing.
