TUI vote of no confidence defeated
Delegates at the TUI conference in Bundoran in Donegal have overwhelmingly rejected a motion of no confidence in the Executive Committee of the TUI.
Four hundred delegates representing 11,000 TUI members at vocational schools, comprehensive schools and Institutes of Technology have finished business on the first day of this three-day conference in south Donegal.
The no confidence motion was due to be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon but was held back to this evening.
It is understood that six branches out of the full 63 were supporting the motion.
However, following a lively debate this evening it was defeated overwhelmingly through a show of hands.
The relieved executive committee of the TUI is now under more pressure than ever to deliver improved pay for its members.
