Man questioned about Kildare baby death

The 20-month-old baby boy from Clane in Co Kildare who died in suspicious circumstances has been named as Nathan Alli.

The state pathologist John Harbison is conducting a post mortem at the moment at Naas General Hospital.

A 28-year-old Somalian man, who is being questioned by Naas gardai about the death, has had his period of detention extended until 7pm this evening.

He is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
