A man has appeared before Newcastle-West District Court in Limerick charged with murdering a man on Easter Sunday morning.

A man has appeared before Newcastle-West District Court in Limerick charged with murdering a man on Easter Sunday morning.

Patrick Sheridan is charged with stabbing David Sheridan in Rathkeale in the early hours of Sunday morning.

30-year-old Sheridan, with an address in Old Barrack View, Rathkeale, appeared at today's special sitting, charged with murdering the father of three at an engagement party in Firhill, Rathkeale.

The deceased, who was stabbed, was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital in Limerick city shortly after the incident.

At today's court sitting Judge Mary O'Halloran remanded Sheridan in custody to appear before Limerick Magistrate Court on Friday next
