Sinn Fein today promised to ‘‘forcefully’’ lobby Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern to step into the row over sanctions against its ministers in Belfast.

Party vice-president Pat Doherty said the Dublin premier would be asked to confront the British Government about the ban imposed by Northern Ireland First Minister David Trimble.
