There has been an acrimonious debate at Stormont over whether or not Easter lilies should be placed in the Great Hall to commemorate Republican deaths this weekend.

During the debate, PUP spokesman David Irvine said he regretted the fact that there were not more Republican dead to commemorate.

The DUP's Ian Paisley Jnr, meanwhile, chipped in by saying: "The lily is akin to the swastika as a symbol of fascism."
