Greens continue protest against Bush
The Green Party will continue its protest outside the American Embassy in Dublin today in a bid to get President George W Bush to honour commitments made on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The Greens began the protest last weekend after Mr Bush announced that he has no intention of reducing these harmful emissions, which are blamed for changing climates worldwide.
Green TD John Gormley said this is a very selfish and short-term attitude and proves that Bush is only interested in appeasing the big oil companies that funded his presidential campaign.
He said by backing down on the Kyoto Protocol, Mr Bush has abandoned his international duty.
