Opposition tells Taoiseach to consider Cooper-Flynn case

The Labour partty and Fine Gael have said that the Taoiseach can not now ignore the consequances of the Beverly Cooper-Flynn ruling.

In a statement from Fine Gael's deputy finance spokesman, Paul McGrath, said:

"When Ms Beverly Cooper-Flynn TD lost her libel action against RTE, it was clear from the decision of the jury that they believed that she had advised clients to evade tax.

"Now that costs have been awarded against her it is evident that the presiding Judge shares this opinion.

"The Taoiseach must now decide and state whether he considers that Beverly Cooper-Flynn TD is a suitable person to be a member of his parliamentary party".
